There are series of publications compiled by Research & Collection Services team, Parramatta Heritage Centre at City of Parramatta. Substantial research is undertaken by staff and valued volunteers.

Parramatta & World War One

The City of Parramatta Research and Collection Services, along with a team of dedicated volunteers, compiled the biographies of 1,962 soldiers, seamen and nurses from the Parramatta District – the culmination of a four-year project.

These stories of dedication, courage and loss are featured here as well as the interactive touch table display in the Parramatta Heritage and Visitor Information Centre.

Parramatta Publications

Parramatta has a unique identity as a gathering place for many different cultures. It is the place where Aboriginal peoples lived through periods of intense change, including a period of colonization and massive disruption. As Australia’s first inland European settlement, Parramatta is often described as the ‘cradle of the colony’. Research and Collections Team have published following books which reflect the rich history of Parramatta.
